The Araluen table legs are shaped in a series of stages. We start with a 120 X 100mm block of solid Oak and then carve the material away until the final form is revealed. It's part way machined, then we use a grinder with a carving disc. Then refine the shape by hand with spokeshaves and rasps. This is as far as we can take the leg prior to gluing them onto the table where we finish the shaping process.
