Custom live edge dining table. 4600 X 1200mm. Handcrafted in Australian Sugar gum. A challenging piece to build and challenging to install. Total weight 400kg. Install was via crane and then an 8 man lift into place. Initially the slab was quite twisted, but the opportunity to present the timber as a single piece rather than splitting it down the middle was too good. That meant flattening it by hand using a Makita planer. This way we could also retain as much thickness as possible.
