Initial Concept

After an initial discussion and considering dimensions and functionality, we often use hand sketches to quickly establish a direction for the design.

3D modelling and presentation renders

We use advanced design software to build a parametric 3D model of the piece. This very accurately conveys the design to the client and helps us refine details efficiently.

Material and finish samples

If necessary, we will make physical samples to demonstrate timber tone, detailing, finish or texture. We always make 2 sets of matching samples. One to send to the client and an exact match that we keep as our production reference. This eliminates inconsistencies between samples and the finished piece.

Production

The fun part. Making it. From timber selection, machining, joinery, digital fabrication, hand sanding, detailing, oiling and everything in between. A wise man once said: “Craftsmanship is a race against yourself.” We pride ourselves on the integrity of our craftsmanship and our skill as furniture makers.
